Obituary of Patricia Wagner

Patricia T. (Piacitelli) Wagner, of Lansdale, died Feb 9, 2012 at Manor Care in King of Prussia, PA. She was 67. As a child, Patty enjoyed riding horses on her farm along with swimming and ice skating at the General Washington Country Club in Audubon PA which her father, James Piacitelli built and operated.

Pat graduated from Norristown High School in 1963 and went on to receive an Associates Degree from the Philadelphia Suburban Business School. Early on, she worked as a receptionist and secretary for Alan Wood Steel and WIBG radio station, but ultimately found her calling at the PA unemployment office in Norristown, where she worked for 28 years. She was a passionate advocate for "her claimants", always doing her best to help them sort out complex rules, procedures and paperwork as they struggled to cope with the uncertainty of having lost their jobs.

While working for WIBG, Pat received some notoriety as the voice of Mrs. Kramer, the shrieking housewife. Mrs. Kramer was tortured by morning anchor Don Cannon who would call her at 4am and ask her to sing the Campbell's Soup jingle. Pat's voice (as Mrs. Kramer) lives on in the Academy award winning movie Rocky during the scene in which Rocky eats his raw egg breakfast while the radio is playing in the background.

Pat is survived by her son, Bob Wagner, 42 of Chester Springs, PA and her siblings Rosemary Sigler and Glen Cole. "GrandPat" is survived by her daughter-in-law, Gail and grandchildren, Michael and Kristen Glass. "Aunt Patty" is survived by her nieces, Debbie & Dawn and her grandniece, Megan & Kristin and grandnephew Kyle.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Seeing Eye, 10 Washington Valley Rd, Box 375, Morristown, NJ.
