Peggy Summers was born in Columbia, South Carolina on July 7, 1938 to the late Rosalie (Davis) and Herbert Jacobs Sr. In the late 1940's she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her family, where she attended the Philadelphia School System and graduated from Simon Gratz High School. Peggy worked at the Sheraton Hotel briefly before working at the Union League for over 15 years. She also worked at PPH for 10 years until she had to retire due to health reasons. In which, she expressed she was very unhappy about.

Peggy loved to watch TV shows about home improvement and true crime shows. She liked using her computer and tablet to search the internet looking for items to purchase. Her feistiness and direct approach was undeniable as she " always told it like it was". She also loved to take long walks, in which kept her active.

She cherished her life and legacy.

Peggy is survived by her five children; Jack Summers, Jr., John Summers, Linda Summers, Daniel Summers, and Cyntheia Wyche; eleven grandchildren  April Wright, Aleisha Quarles, Joseph Patterson, Jasmine Summers, Amanda Patterson, Kris Summers, Michael Summers, Kyle Bruno, Oliver Wyche Jr., Dominick Wyche, Nichole Summers; sister Zelda (Richard) Coleman; brother Herbert Jacobs Jr.; preceded in death by her sister Betty Jacobs and brother Timothy A. Jacobs. Peggy had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in New York, Philadelphia, and South Carolina. She will be truly missed.
