Obituary of Robert Maurer

Maurer, Robert E., 89, of Red Hill died on March 30, 2014.

Mr. Maurer was a WWII veteran (Battle of the Bulge), Purple Heart recipient, and a paratrooper in the 101st airborne for the U.S. Army. Following his service to the country, he remained a member of the American Legion Post 363 for 69 years as well as a member with Masonic Lodge 190. As an avid sportsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching his grandsons play football and baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy (nee: Roberts), his son, Kit E. Maurer along with, daughter Marsha A. and husband Steve Grover, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sister, Nadine Kinkead (John), and brother, James Maurer(Carolyn). Preceded in death by his daughter, Melody A. Sulzbach and his sister, Myrna Pizzino.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday Eve., April 2, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kirk and Nice Funeral Home at 80 Stenton Ave. in Plymouth Meeting, and Tuesday, April 3, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. His funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park.
