Obituary of Robert Renner
Robert F. "Bob," age 90, of Harleysville and formerly of Blue Bell, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Claire (Thomas), his sister Helen Jeanne (Missimer), sisters-in law Grace (John) Renner and Elizabeth (William) Powell, cousin Phyllis (Ludy), and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Renner was a Republican committeeman in Whitpain Township for many years. He was also active in the Whitpain Historical Society and Asbury United Methodist Church in Norristown. Mr. Renner taught the AARP driving course locally for many years. He was a Mason.
Mr. Renner was predeceased by his parents, Francis A. Renner and Helen (Ebert) and his brothers William and John. He attended Levering School in Roxborough and graduated from Roxborough High School in 1936. Known for his drawing and design skills, Mr. Renner was a custom carpenter for many years and worked on many local projects. He had a quick wit and a gruff manner, but his eyes were always sparkling. His energy was contagious and he was very active into his 90th year.
