Obituary

Sally Ann Auris "Gram," age 79, of Lower Gwynedd, PA, passed away on August 13, 2023. She was born on August 20, 1943, in Greenfield, OH, to the late Alice (Hedges) and James Leach.  She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Auris.

Sally was born and raised in the small town of Greenfield, OH, surrounded by her beloved Gramma Nellie, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins who were like siblings. Her mother later married an extraordinary man, Edward Hilary. The family lived in Pittsburgh, Detroit and Upper Darby before settling in Oreland, PA.

Sally was a graduate of Springfield High School, Class of 1961. She went on to have a successful career as a Customer Service Manager at Fargo Assembly (formerly Dill Products) in Norristown, PA. After many years of dedicated service, Sally retired as a loved and well-respected employee and friend.

Sally was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who enthusiastically spread joy and positivity with her kindness, compassion, generosity and warmth. Her beautiful smile, gentle strength and genuine concern for others made everyone feel at ease and comfortable. She enjoyed great conversations with family and friends, taking pleasure in their company.  She was an energetic, playful and smart individual, always up for a friendly competition in board games, card games, trivia, and of course, Jeopardy! All of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren cherished the many sleepovers with Gram, filled with great fun and lots of junk food!

In addition to her love for games, Sally had a passion for travel and found beauty in each of her many vacation destinations all over the world. She especially enjoyed trips to the beaches of the Jersey Shore and visits to Jim Thorpe, PA. She was an avid reader, spent many years enjoying country line dancing with her "dance girls" and skillfully kept up with technology! Sally's selfless thoughts, words and actions blessed the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful memories and unconditional love.

Sally is survived by her loving daughters, Kathryn Auris, Cynthia Wisienski and husband Joseph, and Jacalyn Auris and husband Scott Hansberry. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Shirl Mordan, Ashley Mordan and Harrison Freedman, Charles Mordan and wife Janette, Kaitlyn DeCicco, Joseph Wisienski, Ryan Wisienski, and Olivia Wisienski, ten great-grandchildren Jalen and wife Dianna, Jordan, Amiya, Kayla, Kayleigh, Alayna, Madison, Ethan, Harry and Aubree, one great-great-grandson Adrian and her dearest friend of 63 years, Barbara Rossbauer. She is also survived by her brother Edward Hilary and wife Betty, as well as loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of long-time dear friends.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Edward Hilary, her husband Thomas Auris, granddaughter Brittany Mordan and brother Patrick Leach.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Sally's life. The service arrangements are being handled by Kirk and Nice, Inc.

Sally Ann Auris will forever be remembered for her exceptional spirit, unwavering love and the positive impact she made on the lives of those around her. Until we meet again.
