Dr. Sandra Shuman "Sandy" DeSante passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Temple University Hospital surrounded by her family.  She was born on November 19, 1950 in Philadelphia to the late Dr. Charles and Mary (Moss) Shuman.

A resident of Lafayette Hill, she spent most of her working life as a neurologist, helping improve the lives of countless people.  When she wasn't working, she was an avid gardner, birdwatcher, and traveler.  She also enjoyed cooking French cuisine, reading, fashion, jewelry, and all animals, especially  dogs.  Most of all, she loved being around her family.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Robert DeSante; son, Robert DeSante, Jr., and many other members of her family.

Sandy's funeral service will be at the Heritage Chapel at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting, PA  19462 on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 11 AM.  Her family will receive visitors from 10 to 10:50 AM at the Heritage Chapel.  Inurnment will follow the service at George Washington Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandy's honor to a charity of the donor's choice.
