Sihn-Woong Guhm, age 84, passed away on June 5, 2026, at his home in Hatfield, PA. He was born January 2, 1942, to the late Yong-Joo and Soon-Rea Guhm.

Sihn-Woong was raised in Seoul, South Korea. He was the second eldest of 7 children. He graduated from the prestigious Seoul National University, where he received a PhD in nuclear engineering. In 1974, he married Ok-Myung Guhm (neé Lee) and emigrated to the United States, where he became a naturalized citizen. He initially worked in technology and later owned a dry-cleaning business. Sihn-Woong was a lifelong learner, who never went anywhere without a book in his hand. He especially loved studying the Bible, and took seminary classes later in life. He was a faithful member and Deacon of the Korean United Church of Philadelphia for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ok-Myung, his daughter, Hannah Guhm Croasmun (Matthew) of New Haven, CT, his son, Han-Earl Guhm of San Diego, CA, and granddaughter, Junia Croasmun, also of New Haven, CT. He is also survived by his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Yong-Joo and Soon-Rea, and his youngest sister, Song-Hee.

We are holding a private service for family members on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Kirk and Nice Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 2:45pm. The ceremony begins at 3:00pm.
