Suzanne M. Cluss, age 65 of Philadelphia, PA, suddenly but peacefully passed away surrounded by her devoted husband and daughters on Sunday, May 10, 2026, during her stay at Moss Rehab.
Suzanne was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Barbara (nee: Tinsley) Krecko on February 5, 1961. She attended Jules E. Mastbaum AVTS High School and graduated in 1979. She worked as a secretary in the risk management department at Temple University for several years. She also did telemarketing and clerical work intermittently for several years but ultimately left these jobs to focus on her family. She enjoyed music, particularly songs by Rod Stewart and Whitney Houston. She loved baking and decorating cakes and candies in her earlier days, and as she aged, spent many days with her two daughters and four beautiful granddaughters. While raising her family, she devoted much of her time to helping care for her late grandmother Ruth, and her late parents in their later years of life. She was involved in her church, where she taught nursery school and vacation bible school classes.
Suzanne is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of Philadelphia. devoted daughters, Amanda (Sean) Stephenson, Dana (Michael) Brennan, four cherished granddaughters, Brea & Julia Brennan and Maddie & Reese Stephenson. Also left to honor her legacy are her four sisters, Joanne (Kenneth) Costello, Carolyn (late Paul) Murphy, Barbara Majka, Kimberly (Barry) Wattman, and 13 nieces and nephews, along with their extended families. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Joseph & Barbara Krecko.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Kirk and Nice Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 10 AM until 11 AM to share fond memories.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM; Pastor Julie DeWerth will be officiating.
Suzanne will be laid to rest immediately following at the George Washington Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial donations honoring Suzanne be made to American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Rd. Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd PA 19004 AND/OR Mental Health America, 500 Montgomery Street, Suite 820, Alexandria VA, 22314.
Her husband and daughters wish to extend their gratitude to both Moss Rehab and Jefferson University Hospital (Torresdale & Abington campus) doctors, nurses, and staff who cared tirelessly for Suzanne during her the last few months.
Suzanne was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold. Her caring spirit, unwavering loyalty and immense strength will be remembered by those she cared for and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The memories of Suzanne’s life and legacy will continue through her loving daughters and four beautiful grandchildren, whom she loved deeply.
