Obituary of Virginia Hood

HOOD, VIRGINIA MAE, on August 8, 2008. Age 84. Beloved wife of the late William R. Hood and mother of the late William R. Hood, Jr. Resided in Norristown for 50 years. Most recently was a resident of Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook where she was on the resident council. She was the executive secretary to the head of foreign missions at the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society for 35 years. Mrs. Hood was an avid reader and enjoyed her years as a longtime member of the Great Books Club in Norristown and was actively involved in To Live Again a society for widows and widowers. An active member of Christ Church UCC in Norristown, she served on many boards and ministries. She was a loving mother, wonderful grandmother, friend and confidante. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Survived by her daughter Donna H. Wakelee (Bill), granddaughters Megan, Kelly and Victoria and her brother, Richard Geiser.
