Obituary of William Hackenberg
HACKENBERG, William B. Jr., 75, of Ambler PA died on July 11th, 2012. Husband of Lyn Hackenberg, and father of Debbie Axelrod. Grandfather of Whitney, Rachel, Dannah, and Chelsey. Preceded in death by his son, Mark Hackenberg. He grew up in the Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill areas of Philadelphia. Graduate of Germantown Academy in 1954. Graduated with honors from Princeton University in 1958. Graduated from Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania in 1960. He was elected to the Alpha Chapter of the Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honorary business fraternity. Served for 6 years in the United States Army Reserve in the 361st General Hospital. He was a member of the management team at Price Waterhouse. He joined the Korman organization in 1972 where he served as director and vice president of operations for 34 years. Retired in 2006 and served as a consultant with SCORE. Former member of the Board of Directors of College Settlement Camp in Horsham. Bill was a supporter of HOPE Partnership for Education, Siloam, a support organization for people living with AIDS, the Augustinians of Villanova, and the Sisters of Mercy in Merion Pennsylvania. Private interment will take place at the family's convenience. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Siloam at 1133 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
