Bill Burkett, 73, of Gilbertsville passed away on January 11, 2026. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Nancy Deyarmin, and brothers Danny (Karen), Tim (Bev), and Tom (Virginia) Burkett and Gary and Bill McGee. He is survived by his wife Eleonore, his children: Tracy and Bill Jr., granddaughter Ella, and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Indiana, PA, he spent his childhood growing up on a farm — some of his greatest memories. He gradated from Purchase Line High School and moved to Norristown, PA. Bill then joined the Marine's where he trained in Camp Lejeune, SC and then served in places including San Diego and Okinawa. After his military service, he moved to back to Pennsylvania where he worked construction for 30 years, serving most recently as a concrete foreman.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed being with family. Bill was the "king of 5 minute jobs" and the resident jokester of the family. He coached his son's baseball games, went camping with family and friends, and rode his Harley Davidson alongside his wife — who he just celebrated his 50th anniversary with.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill's visitation from 11 AM to 12:30 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Kirk and Nice Funeral Home. A service celebrating Bill's life will begin following visitation, Reverend Dave McGee will be officiating.

Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at George Washington Memorial Park.
