Obituary of William Winkopp

William O. Winkopp of Paoli, on November 16, 2010. Age 88. Son of the late Eleanor and Oscar Winkopp, he was born in Brooklyn, NY. A 1944 graduate of King''s Point, US. Merchant Marine Academy, he was in the US Navy until his discharge in 1946. He attended Wharton School of Business in 1953. Mr. Winkopp worked at International Paper Company until 1967 when he founded the William O. Winkopp Company. A member of the Union League of Philadelphia and its Glee Club, he also participated in the Surrey Senior Services Club in Berwyn. He was a member of St. Norbert''s Catholic Church in Paoli where he was involved in the Legion of Mary and the Knights of Columbus. A devoted fan of the Phillies and Eagles, he also loved playing bridge.

Beloved husband of the late Peggy (nee Kurtz) Winkopp. Loving father of Suzie Halftown. Dear grandfather of Amie Lester (Jason), Bill Wallace (Emily), Stefanie Kantout (Dave); great grandfather of Aiden Lester, Billy Wallace, Larissa Kantout, Drake Kantout; great great grandfather of Bentley Kantout. Also survived by his loving companion, Lauretta Reagan, and his daughter-in-law, Amy Winkopp, wife of the late Bill Winkopp, his adored son. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Winkopp.
