Obituary

Yvette D. (nee Stimmler) Woods married to George H. Woods (d. 2019) of Kutztown, formally of Eagleville, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at home with family by her side. She was 92. Born in Roxborough, PA she was the oldest daughter of Lorraine A. (Becht) and James A. Stimmler. Affectionately Called Helen Yvette, Bridie, Mom and Baba, she was a member of Visitation BVM Parish since its founding in 1954 and after moving was a parishioner of St. Mary's in Kutztown. She liked camping and travelled with her family up and down the East coast of the USA. She worked at Valley Forge Information Service and made a living with her knowledge and skills of knitting, sewing, crocheting and crafting and also co-owned Java Junction, a coffee shop in Trappe. On their small farm she grew her garden and canned the produce and fruit from the orchard, raised cows, chickens, rabbits and once shot 2 groundhogs from the porch. She had a license to carry and could outcook, out shop and out bargain
anyone. Her ability to pack a station wagon with tents, coolers, sleeping bags and luggage for 9 people for a week and still feed them slap sandwiches or hot dogs from the large Tupperware container on the way without stopping was legendary. As was keeping track of 7 children all dressed the same in homemade clothes at company picnics, parks or museums and caves we visited on the way. As the family grew up she was a Cub Scout Den Mother Leader, a member of the Methacton HS Band Boosters and attended every choral concert, band concert and competition, play, art show, sports game and parent's night.
She is survived by their seven children: John Woods, Kathleen Brown, Colleen M. Skelton (Mark), Laureen Choate, Janine Morris (Steve), Brendan Woods (Christine) and George A. Woods. Also 23 Grandchildren, 33 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great -Great-Grandchild.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM.
